Really enjoyed staying at the very good sized room with four poster bed. The location was good for me as it was next to restaurants in Carmel, town centre, and grocery store & restaurants:)))

Truly enjoyed my very pleasant stay during AT & T weekend. The room was themed with high level of maintenance and the staff genuinely helpful. The location was peaceful for walking around Carmel Plaza. It was located in a safe area. Everything was simply perfect.

Small - very small - issues requiring repair or attention.

Good location, friendly front desk staff
A lot of morning noise, no air cond so must have windows open. Maid staff speak zero english....ZERO. Front desk needsto give better directions to rooms and morning buffet, there are no sign and when you ask where it is, they just point in air and say that way.

Cozy stay with ocean views
We had a comfy king suite with a couch and a great ocean view. The continental breakfast was a nice surprise, and the rates were pretty good. The decor is a bit outdated, though, and it could use some freshening up. Still, we enjoyed our time and exploring the nearby dining options.

The rooms are cleaned with products that leave quite an overpowering odour. There was no fridge or mini bar in our room.

Pros: Comfortable bed, decor was charming.
Cons: The ac was not sufficient to keep the room cool in August, it was cooler outside. Room 23's window has a view of a cement wall. You can tell that the "little" things aren't important in this hotel, chipped coffee pot, not enough electrical outlits, no vanity mirror...but an ample supply of bric a brac figurines and gauche trinkets. Parking was on the street, the "private" parking lot was packed full. So another misrepresentation as the website says no reservation was needed. The staff was the WORST I have ever experienced in a hotel. Upon checking out in the morning with my dog the front desk gentleman remarked with wide eyes that pets are not allowed in the hotel. I found this exchange ammusing and offensive at the same time. First of all, Booked.net's filter selected this hotel as a pet friendly hotel. Additionally in my special requests I informed the hotel that I would be bringing a shih tzu out of courtesy. There was no attempt on behalf of the gentleman to resolve the issue, so I immediately asked for the manager and was told "he is not available". I rebuttled with a request to telephone him, and was told that he can not be reached by phone. I lawyered my way around this by pointing out the irony of having a hotel manager who is not present and unable to "manage" in a customer dispute. After several rounds back and forth I was given a sloppily written post it with an email address....please. The gentleman was making remarks under his breath, rolling his eyes, pretending like he didn't understand english or was himself unable to speak english, and denied any responsibility for the hotel's misrepresentation on Booked.net. Also the hotels website does not say anything about no pets. Finally he retrieves my Booked.net print out and folds it in half and slamms it on the counter in front of me triumphantly in an innitiative to prove that I falsely claimed that I informed the hotel I would be bringing a dog.
